Christmas Around the World

Have you ever wondered how other cultures celebrate Christmas? Do they hang Christmas stockings or perhaps are they waiting to have those little gifts left in a shoe or a sack. Is Santa coming to see them on a sled drawn by reindeer or by kangaroos? Or is he coming by sled at all? The traditions differ worldwide on how the holiday is celebrated, the length of the celebration and what important traditions are followed. This includes what is left for Santa by the family. In the United States people are most likely to leave cookies and milk while in other places Santa might be left a hearty Guinness and mince pie.
